Changing the amount of text the T&C can hold

    Hi,

My client has a REALLY long body of text that needs to be incorporated into the T&C and agreed to before you can purchase. I wanted to rename the Remittance Terms (which I dont need) and include all the text in this space but it wont fit!

Is there any way of making the amount of copy it can hold bigger?

    Thanks
    Charles

I don't know the answer, but perhaps your client should consider how many people will actually read pages and pages of T&C. I know from personal experience, less is more - I would suggest that if your client has too much text to fit in those areas, there must be a way of condensing it.

Unfortunately my client will be selling fireworks online and they have to display the details on the site for legal reasons.

Even if nobody reads them, they have to agree to them before they can buy online.

      Cheers

Rather than showing all the T&C in the T&C boxes, you could code a link to a page with full details in - that way people would click on the link, go to a brochure page or whatever and be able to read everything there.

It's not an ideal solution - you could also have a 'Short T&C' which uses the boxes then link through to a full one from every box - that would mean that there would be something in the cart and then people could click to see more info.

Not sure what the legal implications are for this, will have to look into it.

If there is a way to increase the text capacity then that would still be the bext fix.

          Cheers

This is a neat little fix.

Put your extra text within a text file called something like 'extratext.txt' and save it in the 'Site1' folder.

The include the following tag at the and of the terms and conditions field where you want the extra text to be inserted..

            [INCLUDE] extratext.txt

            And that's it.

              Works a treat Chris, thanks!

I take it you can apply the same technique throughout the site as many times as you need?

              Cheers

Yes, you should be able to use that or use

                NETQUOTEVAR:INCLUDE templatename.txt

if you want to put the extra content within an HTML template.
