Upgrading from V3 to V6

Uprading from V3 to V6 (yes some were still using it), the installation hung whilst updating a parse command, which I'm afraid I can't remember. Did this twice, so looks fatal.

Anyone any ideas.

Alternatively, I'd like to try to upgrade the V3 version on another machine, what do I need to do to copy across to the new machine, or what actions can I take, so I can upgrade and then produce a snapshot from V6, install V6 onto original machine and then import it? Would his be a good work around?

Try going into Housekeeping and compact Dbs on the v3 machine and then import that into v6 to see if that helps it along.
