Re Installing V4 onto a new Host.

I am not the best computer tech!

I have changed hosts and re installing V4. All is well with the wizard, but i come a cropper when i come to this:

"Once the wizard logs in to your server, it needs to know how to get to the cgi-bin and web root directories. The cgi-bin directory is the directory where CGI scripts are stored. Cgi-bin directories typically have names like "cgi-bin", "cgi", etc. The web root directory is the directory where your web files are stored. The view on the left hand side is a view of your FTP server's directories. Please select the cgi-bin and press the ">>" button to copy the directory name into the CGI-BIN directory field. Please do the same for the web root directory. If you want to refresh a directory listing, please close it and then re-open it. If you know the directories already, you can type them directly into the text boxes. Your catalog files will be stored in a sub-directory of your web root directory called "acatalog".

I should be typing something in both the cgi dir and web root fields but do not know.

This is just the begining no doubt and I will be back when wizard get to the Pearl check!

    Hi

I should be typing something in both the cgi dir and web root fields but do not know.
If you look at the directory listing on the right you should find a folder called Cgi-bin or something similar. Select this folder by clicking on it and then press the first >> button this should populate the area under the heading CGI-BIN directory. Similarly to choose the web root directory(it usualy is the directory with a "/" symbol beside it) select the directory and click the second >> button and this should populate the area under the heading Web Root Directory.

I am also attaching a screen grab to clarify my point .

    Hope this helps

Sorry to be a pain, but if you are trying to use the version 4 configuration wizard forget it now, you are wasting your time it will never complete.
There used to be a particular server check carried out by the v4 wizard that falls foul of measures taken to protect servers against viruses.
Your best bet, is to download a trial version of v7, use the wizard in that then when that is complete, export the settings and import them into the 'Network Setup' box of v4.
      "OK Venus?"
      "OK Steve!"
      "Right then, lets go!
