    Continue shopping button

Is it possible to change where the continue shopping button at the bottom of the cart page points to?

Additionally, can I change the address to which users are automatically forwarded after adding something to their cart?

    Thanks

    Joe

If you go into Design | Options and Misc tab, you should find an input called "URL for completed and aborted checkout" so if you place in a full url in there like "http://www.yourdomain.com/filename.html" then which ever page you specify should then be used....

      Thanks for your reply

However, I want to be able to set where people are redirected to after adding something to their cart, or if they click the continue shopping button, not control where they go after checking out, as your insrtuctions described.

Sorry for any confusion in the previous post but is what I'm wanting to do possible?

Try this knowledge base article. It seems to do what you need.

          Hi Chris

I read the knowledge base article you referred to and when I did a "Find" for the phrase you said to search for - it comes up that it could not be found.

Any other ideas. What happened was I imported a site (www.agiftislove.com) so I could use the settings for a different site( www.bonniesgifts.com), so now when a customer clicks the Continue (Keep) shopping button, it takes them to the log in page of the old site.

I want it to take the customer to this page http://www.bonniesgifts.com/acatalog/home.html

          Can you help?
          Thanks, Bonnie

This is the standard behaviour of Actinic - it takes you to the last page you were on before adding to the cart. What is happening with your store?

                Hi Chris,

                On both sites:
www.bonniesgifts.com and www.bonnies-gift-shop.com it takes me to the |index.html| which is actually the |catalogbody.html|

Also, both sites have index.html as the brochure page and index.html as the (catalogbody). How can I change the index.html which should actually be catalogody.html to catalogbody.html instead of index.html Having 2 index.html pages is confusing me.

                Thanks

You can change the filename of the store index page by editing the 'Base Page Name' in 'Design | Options | Site Defaults'.

With regards to your other problem, when I ordered a 'No One Like Mom' gift basket, I was taken back to http://www.bonniesgifts.com/acatalog/For_Her_Gift_Baskets.html - the page I was on before.

I'm wondering if you have a security program on your machine which is blocking Actinic from taking you back to the page you were on previously.

                    Hi Chris

I do have Norton Internet Security - Would that prevent it from going back to the previous page? If so, is there away around this because I'm sure other customers have the same virus protection. I am using Developer V6

                    Thanks

                      Hi Chris,

This is in response to your reply regarding changing the Base Name from index.html to anything I wanted. I did so for both sites: www.bonniesgifts.com and www.bonnies-gift-shop.com I changed it to catalogbody.html

Now when I click on the |Home| button, it is trying to take me to |index.html| which is what it was named before.

                      Any suggestions,
                      Bonnie

You are using v6.1.2 of Actinic currently. I suggest you upgrade to 6.1.5 as the problem you are experiencing was fixed in version 6.1.4 of the software.
Now when I click on the |Home| button, it is trying to take me to |index.html| which is what it was named before.
Please go to 'Design | Options | Miscellaneous'. Under the 'Home Page Link' settings, what is selected? I suspect it is 'Brochure'. Change this to 'URL' and enter the full URL of the page you want the 'Home' page to link to.

                          Hi Chris

Thanks. As for upgrading, Have there been problems upgrading to 6.1.5? Reason I'm asking is I am leaving for vacation on 09-06-04 and don't want to start anything that's going to cause problems. I have never upgraded before. Where can I find that information?

                          Thanks

There are no problems with upgrading, but I suggest that if you are going on vacation soon, postpone the upgrade until you're return.

Technology has a way of telling if you are under pressure, and it will often mess up more often when you are against a deadline.

                              Hi Chris

I must have seemed calm to the computer because I upgraded to 6.1.5 today and so far everything went smoothly. Of course, I was doing a lot of praying while upgrading.

Thanks for all your help with all my questions. You are terrific!!!!
