    Delivery Rates? or alternative soultion

    Hi everyone,

I am about to start build on a new website and my client has an issue regarding delivery rates.

The client requires the delivery structure below:

The base unit for calculating delivery should be 1 bottle of wine = 1 unit, 1 case of beer = 6 units

£5.99 for up to and including the first 6 units
£3.00 for each extra 6 units

Eg. A customer buys 7 bottles of wine. This equates to 7 units thus the customer would be charges £5.99 + £3.00 = £8.99

    Eg. A customer buys 14 bottles of wine and 2 cases of beer. This equates to (14 + 12) 26 units, the customer would be charge £5.99 + £3 x 4 = £17.99

Has anybody seen any solution similar or know of another string that may help.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Regards.

You could do this quite simply by setting the weight of each product to units.

    eg set I unit = 100gms

    in shipping create Shipping class
set minimum weight 600gms (six units) set price £5.99
set next weight to 900gms price £8.99
set next to 1200 gms etc

Eg. A customer buys 7 bottles of wine. This equates to 7 units ( 700gms) thus the customer would be charges £5.99 + £3.00 = £8.99 (over 600gms but under 900gms)

    Hope this helps
