Removing Duplicate products

Have discovered that duplicate products can be deleted but not cut, which is an annoyance since this leaves lots of deleted products that are unwanted. have discovered a work around that if you put the duplicates into a section you can cut the whole section, but is there a better or "right" way to do it?

this leaves lots of deleted products that are unwanted.

You can delete them permanently by going to Housekeeping | Purge | Purge content.
