    lots of download errors

    Hello all,

    Just updated my site and received this lot :

    The web server returned an unknown response.

    Possible Cause:
    You are attempting to download orders
    before uploading to the web site
    Incorrect CGI-BIN URL in the web site details
    Incorrect permissions on the CGI script on
    the server (UNIX servers only)
    Script corruption - Could be caused by:
    Binary ftp transfer during manual installation
    Incomplete transfer
    Garbled transfer
    etc.
    Old or bad version of Perl running on server
    Http server error
    Wrong Path to Perl specified in the
    web site details
    Unknown
    Recommendation:
    Abort
    Resolution:
    Check cgi-bin script permissions
    Compare cgi-bin script against local script to
    check for corruption
    Upgrade Perl on server (needs at least 5.002)
    Run the Web | Configure Web Site Details command to verify your setup
    Re-install the web site
    Review server response for hints

    The response was:
    <HTML>
    <HEAD><TITLE>Script Error!</TITLE></HEAD>
    <BODY>
    <BLINK><B><FONT COLOR="#FF0000">
    Script Error</FONT></B></BLINK>
    </BODY>
    </HTML>

    .htaccess

    Hi all,

    My web host has migrated my account to a new server and modified the .htaccess file to redirect to the new ip address.

    I know how to modify this file but would like to know if Actinic will need some network changes if my static ip address number has changed ?

    Cheers

    Mick

      Nope, still not right

      Now im getting this at the order confirmation page :

      Error: Your shopping cart has expired, orders must be completed within 3 hours or they will be automatically cancelled.

      My shopping cart has not expired and was only 35 seconds old...........

      Oh boy,

      Mick
      Kind regards,

      Michael

        The expiry error sometimes appears when the online scripts simply cannot find the online shopping carts - which is related to your other problems - i.e. something has changed on your server.

        Go to 'Advanced | Network Setup' and click 'Test'. What happens?

        It could be that it is taking the Name Servers a little while to point to your website at the new address (normally takes 24-48 hours to complete the change).

          Thanks Chris,

          The network test was ok with no errors.
          All of my .htaccess redirects are now working and everything seems ok apart from the confirmation page which still shows the error message.

          If everything else is ok then surely the propagation has gone through ?
          Is there anyway the cgi bin could have been corrupted and would it be a good idea to go through "configure website details" again ?

          Cheers

            Update - Solved

            Hi all,

            Just spoke to Actinic support and they confirmed that the problem appears to be something else.

            Well I dont know if I have mentioned this before but it turned out to be my Broadband Router which was blocking me from connecting to my hosting space. This has happened before and it can stop me from browsing my own website whilst still allowing access to the rest of the world.

            Its very bizzarre and the only way to solve it is a factory reset on the router.
            Perhaps when I ftp my hosting space my router sees it as a security risk ? All I know is that it only ever affects my own websites and never any other site in the world.

            Cheers
