    Index Page confusion

    Hi,

I have my index page located outside the acatalog directory.

Everything looks great, except when I click on the Up link or the Catalog link, it redirects to the index page that is in the acatalog. I believe I can edit the code that points to where these links link to but sure how to do it?

Is there an easy way of doing this?

The uplink and catalog link are not links to the Home page, i.e. your index page outside of the acatalog folder.

Up link will always take you to the section level directly above your current location, or the top level section listings if only 1 level into the sites section structure.

The Catalog link will always take you to the top level sections link.

To change these to go to the Home page is not simply a case of changing the href for it, i.e. the page or folder name, as the links are all generated using a single marker which pulls in the images and text links...

You would need to manually create the links using the NETQUOTEVAR:NAVBCATALOGLINK for the URL and so on to manually create it..

i didnt think it was going to be simple... What I did do was delete the index file from the acatlog directory thinking it would return with a file not found message. However, it returns to the index page outside the acatlog directory. Weird

you could just move your whole site to the root directory instead of having it in acatalog. I have done this with my low carb and new aromatherapy site with no problem (personally I thin it looks more professional when the url doesn't have 'acatalog' in it).

You just need to edit the network settings using access (annoyingly if you do it in actinic it changes the path back again...

          Hi John,

          Thanks for the advise...

Actinic is good at some things but confusing in others.

it all seems to ok now.
