    retrieving orders

Customer computer has gone "kaput", and they have orders waiting to be retrieved. We are able to read off the hard-drive but how do we go about getting the encryption key?

Where is the encryption key stored on the machine with the installation, so that we can copy this off onto a different machine that works.

Unless there are other ways to get orders off the website?

    Many thanks!!

    Hi Yolande

Can you access the computers registry via Start | Run | regedit?

    If so browse to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Actinic\Catalog4\Sites\Site1\.

On the right screen look for the PrivateKey string. Contained in the Value field is your encryption key.

    Hope this helps.
    Regards,

      Sorted

Hi, thanks for the info. Will keep it in mind for future ref.
But for the moment, we managed to boot on the hard drive, and retrieved remaining orders off the web site, which was a big relief.
