    corrupt actinic!

    Help!! - I have actinic developer V7 and it has just crashed on me with the error message:

    The specified key is missing or wrong in the Layout ini file!

    I tried looking for the file in the folder structure but nothing with this name. Anybody know how to fix this or I'll have to wait until the support lines are open tomorrow...

    I think the problem is that you have tried to customise the list of brochure fragment templates (obscure I know). It is a known issue that is due to be fixed soon.

    Copy a default BrochureTemplates.ini from 'Formats\Themes\Business' into your 'Site1' and Actinic should start.

        Still occurring

        Chris,

        I'm not sure if this has been fixed yet as it occurred in my copy of developer today (v7.04). The procedure you described before worked to solve the issue.

        Cheers,

            I got this error today and we're on 7.0.5
            It's not editing the brochuretemplate.ini that causes the crash. I have used it to customise the drop-downs for ages.
            Yesterday, I edited a fragment template from within Developer, then saved it with a new name.
            Developer then added this to the brochure template.ini file without telling me! And the text it added caused the crash.
            What causes the crash is the bit of the .ini file which describes the preview template.
            (eg. [Act_TextOnly.html]
            sLayoutName= Text only
            Preview=P_TextOnly.bmp
            bTitle=0
            nNumberOfTexts=1
            nNumberOfImages=0)

            Developer had added a new bit for my new template, but added it incorrectly. Just delete the extra text it's inserted, and it works fine again - AND you can still customise your menus.

            And the moral of the story is... don't create new brochure templates from within Developer!!

              Version 7.0.6 Developer Lite.

              Lisa is perfectly correct.
              Remove or repair the entry from "BrochureTemplate.ini file and it works.
              However, it is also worth checking that the file associated with it has been correctly named.
              I had added two fragments and both had been incorrectly named.
              The .html extension was missing.
              Renamed them and all was okay.
