    VATable items and price setting

Got a wee problem where I can't seem to find the right settings for our products.

On the Dartmoor National Park shop we've got products which are zero rated and products which are VAT applicable. That's fine, but I can't find an option to display the prices on the front end VAT inclusive. For instance, under Videos, the products are VATable and I've put in the VAT inclusive price to be displayed. However, when you go to checkout it obviously adds the VAT again instead of displaying the VAT element instead.

Any ideas how I fix this?

Actinic will automatically calculate the VAT on items in your store. This is worked out on the ex-VAT prices of your products, so you would normally need to enter ex-VAT prices in the 'Price' field of your products.

However, it is possible to display prices in the product pages inclusive of VAT. This is set in 'Design Options'.

    To do this:
    - Go to 'Design' and then 'Options'.
    - Change to the 'Miscellaneous' tab.
    - In the 'Price Display' area, tick the box that says 'Display Tax Inclusive Prices'. You can also un-tick the box that says 'Display Tax Exclusive prices' if you want.
    - Click 'OK' and then preview to see the difference.

Alternatively, you can also go to 'Business Settings | Tax' and switch to 'Simple' and un-tick where it says 'Include Tax 1' in order to not charge any tax on the store. You can then enter tax-inclusive prices for the products.
