Froogle Feed & Products with components

We have a number of products with components. When we run the Froogle Feed it brings the main product through but obviously without the component details and often without a price (if price is component dependant).

We are in the process of creating lots of hidden products to link to products with components (so that it all works nicely when we start using Actinic Link with Sage), and I thought we could have used this somehow, but can't see how as we can't have the froogle feed pointing to a product on our website which is hidden.

I'm sure I'm not the only one with this problem - so does anyone have any suggestions for a workround?

    Thanks

Just been told by support that there is nothing that can be done with froogle feed and products with components.

So - it's either export the whole database and do masses of manual editing to get into a state for froogle etc - or make all our products which have component individual products - one for each component type - not nice at all - I hate it when I see on other web sites - 20 products for 1 product with different size & colour choices!!

So caught between devil & deep blue.............

Support - is there anything that can be done about this in the future?

I can't think of anything particularly. I guess people don't generally search for an option, they search for the product. The product details will appear correctly in froogle - all you need to do is provide the basic cost for that product - rather than manually creating a froogle record for each possible option in your store.
