    menu bar

    Hi,

I have selected the text menu bar on the left hand side of the shop I have created (http://www.wildlifewatchingsupplies.co.uk/acatalog/).

But only headings showing. I would like to show the sub categories exactly like found on the following site: http://www.alanaecology.com/

I would be grateful if anyone could let me know what pages need to be changed and what has to be added.

    Cheers...

    Hi Paul

You can find the solution for this in the Advanced Users Guide 7 (if you do not have the guide you can download it from here .....you will need to download the Zipped Word format 0.9MB )

The workaround is given on Page 36, titled : Creating a List of Hyperlinks with Sections and Sub-sections

    Hope this helps.

    Cheers

      Menu bar problems still!

      Hi,

      Many thanks Krithika.

Have had a look at the advanced guide but am a tad confused. The guide says to place the code between<head></head> tags - no problems, but it says to place it on the overall layout page - which is that? Thought it was Act_Primary.html but tried that and it didn't work. Tried a few others that looked like they should/could be the overall layout page but none seemed to be the correct one!

Probably me not seeing what's in front of me but any help would be gratefully received.

      Cheers...

        Hi

Overall Layout would indeed refer to Act_Primary.html. Can you confirm if you have also placed the
        <script language=Javascript1.1>document.write(SectionList(section_tree))
        </script>
within the <body> tag depending on where you want the section links to be displayed ?

If this still does not work, please attach your Act_Primary.html so we can take a look at the changes made.

        Cheers

          Hi Krithika,

Many thanks for that, I had forgotten the additional line of script within the <body> tag!

I was wondering though, how can I change the colour of the main menu headings and those of the sub-menu headings on the left but not interfere with the other links within the site?

          Cheers...

              Hi Krithika,

The theme is a clean layout number 04.

              Cheers...

                Hi Paul

                Please follow these steps :

                1. Go to Design | Options | Layouts
                2. Click Edit against the template selected for Top Level Section Link Layout under the heading Section Link Templates. This should typically open up Act_SectionLineSmallText.html.
                3. In this you can put the <font> tags around NETQUOTEVAR:SECTIONNAME
                for e.g , <font color="red">NETQUOTEVAR:SECTIONNAME</font>

This should now change the color of the links without disturbing the link colors in the main section of the page.

                Cheers
