    Index.html Confusion

    Hi,

Having completed 95% of an actinic integration I find myself stumped at something I assumed would be simple: the homepage. I've had mixed advice on this so here is my dilemma:

I want index.html - a homepage created outside of actinic but which obviously lurks in my site folder - to be uploaded to root folder on server. I also want a shop front - say, shop.html - and for that to reside in the acatalog folder. Now, I have set my homepage (in actinic developer) to the index.html page and have ticked the use as homepage box. The shop page below it doesn't have an option to change the filename - or much else - and thus uploads as index.html into my acatalog folder. Unfortunately, this page is being overwritten by my index.html homepage file - regardless of whether or not I choose to overwrite it or not during update/refresh.

Ideas? Surely this is a simple thing to work out... I just can't seem to get my head around it.

    Cheers,

    DB

    Hi there

Your homepage that you have created in Actinic will be called index.html, you can change this in the Page Details for your homepage if you want.

By default, your catalog homepage (the index page in the acatalog folder) is called index.html, you can change this to be shop.html or something else by going to Design | Options | Site Defaults | and changing the Base page name...

That should sort out the confusion with the 2 index pages.

    Hope that helps

Cheers, this sorted it. Easy when you know how.

The template for the 'base page' (i.e. the first page of the store) is Act_CatalogBody.html. Try adding some text in there.
