    uploaading problem

a client of mine is experiencing uploading problems, but only intermittently:

they receive the following error message approximately 1 in 3 times they try to update the site (the rest of the time it uploads fine):

"An error occurred while writing to "acatalog" on the web site. The problem
is probably due to permissions problems, but could be due to low disk space.
Actinic Ecommerce can not work with these settings. Press Cancel if you
would like to manually examine the permissions and disk space on the web
site. Press Retry if you would like Actinic Ecommerce to attempt to change
the permissions on the directory for you."

    1) permissions are fine (acatalog = 777, cgi bin = 755)
    2) definitely no disk space problems
    3) when you run 'test' from advanced > network setup, it reports no problems
    4) server = red hat linux

    anyone got any ideas?

    TIA

It definitely sounds like an odd one.

Writing to the acatalog directory should be very straightforward and I don't remember seeing many problems of this type.

If I were you I'd call actinic support and get them to investigate.

... or if you don't have an Actinic Cover subscription you can register an email support request at http://www.actinic.co.uk/support/register.htm
