    Fraud

A site we built for a client (http://www.workweardevon.co.uk) has recently received a number of fraudulent orders and as a result has lost a considerable amount of money. Can any one make any suggestions on how we can alter the site to minimise fraud?

    Thankyou for your help

    How do you accept payment?

What checks do you make on orders?

      payment is made via protx

We don't do any independent checks on orders can you recommend any?

      Thanks.

protx allows you to customise the level of credit card security by amount and type, so for example you can say -

for orders upto £50 only require that the postcode is correct as a minimum
for orders £50-£100 require correct postcode and address numerics
for orders over £100 require correct postcode, address, security code

and so on. How have you got these set? If you are suffering on big orders then best to set them to maximum protection.

I believe protx also links into a couple of other services which allow enhanced fraud checking - take a look on their website for details...

Here's the link - it is the '3rd man' company.
