sending e mails

hi there one and all
i have recently recieved my first official order online hurray!!!
and within actinic i am trying to send the standard e mails to the customer, order recieved, order shipped etc.. but actinic will not let me saying

Failed to communicate with the SMTP server.

Possible Cause:
Network transmission problems.

Recommendation:
Retry

Resolution:
If retry fails, check your SMTP settings
or contact your ISP.


The error was:
58321bsutcliffe@astell.comError returned from SMTP server (4: 550 relaying to <bsutcliffe@astell.com> prohibited by administrator

Hi Wayne,

It sounds like your server's SMTP server forbids relaying to unknown email address. Hosting companies apply these restrictions so the SMTP servers can't be used for spamming.

Give them a call and see if they will lift this restriction.
