Here's a funny thing - two and a half years later there appears to have been no progress whatsoever on the issue of reducing the number of steps customers have to take to get through the checkout procedure. What exactly happens to a suggestion once it is put on the 'wish-list'?
Anyone come up with any bright ideas they might want to share?
Hi - we're still finishing off the coding of the next version so it'll be a while before the beta is out. We'll keep you posted. We also really can't talk about features yet.
I know it's not Actinic - but I booked a trip on Eurotunnel and while I filled in all the checkout pages, having already confirmed the times and dates, it increased the price from £39 each way to £53 each way. I then had to go through the pages again as it lost most of the previous input. Total frustration and a whopping price increase from £78 to £106 for the same journey all because it took too long to fill out the checkout pages.
Well it was to do with checkout pages. Feel better now although I've got a hole in my wallet. Wish we could add 30% to the price after the customer has decided to buy. Perhaps an item for the Actinic wish list?
My first customer my first feedback my first critiscism of my all singing and dancing Digital Download safety signs site ....
I quote...
"Checkout is a bit crap"
C'mon Actinic, trust us its too long!!!!!!
esafetysigns.co.uk your instant download portal for self printable health and safety signs and posters
... download once use as many times as you like !
I'm sure I've asked this before, and there is a way to shave off a few pages if you make some sacrifices (eg. you can lose the country page for a start, and also if you don't want a separate delivery/invoice address you can lose another page with a bit of fiddling...)
So try searching the forum for similar threads, use the advanced search and look for threads I started...
I think we have got it down to 2 pages from the original 5. We've been running the code for about a week now and have a pretty positive response so far. If you pop over to Stinkyink.Com chuck something into our super Tesco shopping cart and try to checkout you will see it (you can buy some ink if you would be so kind - times are hard!)
We did have it down to one page, but had some problems with people selecting a different delivery address, so had to go back to 2. We collect feedback from our customers using the order shipped email to ask for their response and use Wufoo.com to collate the information
I'd be interested in your comments
