Customer Specific Discount Code

Is there a way to make a discount code only available to a certain registered customer? I want to be able to give out codes that only that person can use, so that customers who aren't given the codes cannot use them.

To do this as you describe, you would need to create a separate discount for each registered customer in your store - each with its own unique coupon code.

This is not supported I'm afraid. I will add it to the wish list for you.

Would this stop the customer giving the discount code to somebody else to use?

I need it so that the unique discount code can only be used by one specific customer only, and not be transferred.

Yes - they would only be able to use the coupon if they were logged in as that customer account.

I've tried this, but it seems that anybody logged in can use the same discount code.

How would I make it so that Registered Customer A can use discount code XYZ, but Registered Customer B cannot use it (with both being in the same 'Trade' customer group)

You can only restrict discounts to customer groups, not to individual customer accounts.

Therefore, two customers within the same customer group will always be able to use each others coupon codes.

You need to put each customer within their own individual customer group in order to get something close to what you want.

Can this be fixed for the next update?

I don't want to create a new customer group for each customer, as I just want to have a 'Retail' group and a 'Trade' group.
