Google Universal Analytics

SellerDeck are aware that Google Universal Analytics has now been released from beta. Google are encouraging users to upgrade to it, and new accounts will adopt Universal Analytics automatically.

Google have stated that legacy code will continue to work with Universal Analytics accounts, so we do not expect any immediate impact on the SellerDeck integration; however SellerDeck have not yet put it through our QA process. Users will not benefit from all of the new features in Universal Analytics.

SellerDeck do plan to include support for the new code in a future SellerDeck release.

In the meantime, if you wish to adopt the new code you are free to do so using the instructions available from Google. In this case the SellerDeck integration must be disabled to prevent conflict between the two sets of code.

I have been using Google Analytics for years, will it continue to work?

Yes.

If I sign up for Google Analytics today or upgrade to Universal Analytics, will the SellerDeck integration still work?

Google have stated that legacy code will continue to work with Universal Analytics accounts. SellerDeck have not yet put it through our full QA process, however it is expected to work as normal.

At this stage we cannot confirm exactly when this is going to be rolled out, however we do have plans to implement this.

SellerDeck Google Universal Analytics integration

Hi all,

Just to give you an update on our integration with Google Universal Analytics.

At present, Google Universal Analytics is not supported with SellerDeck due to the fact that it requires a large number of layout changes. The integration will also need to run along side the existing SellerDeck Google Analytics integration, so that merchants are able to upgrade in their own time. Due to this large development, it needs to be included in a major release of SellerDeck.

We can confirm that Google Universal Analytics is scheduled for SellerDeck 2015 which will be delivered this year.

Is anybody currently using Universal Analytics on a current version of Sellerdeck? We are very keen to benefit from UA's features.

Yes.
We have implemented UA for many of our Digital Marketing clients successfully, along with Adword conversion tracking, Google remarketing and full ecommerce transaction analytics.
It's a vital tool for us to measure success through a range of metrics including the most important - sales!
