Jont, what do you think of the new Burger King ad for a "posh burger", only available, naturally, to "posh" customers. The assistant interrogates the customer to make sure they qualify. One of the questions is:- "You don't have any friends called Jonty, do you?" If they answer "yes" they can't buy one.

Perhaps you could approach McD's and suggest they produce the Jontyburger in competition, only available to "the common man" - no snobs or posh people allowed, with 10% commission on sales going to you, of course!!

Yeah right man! LOL! In fact, if I wait long enough I guess it'll be cold enough here on the farm. Gonna blast the chuffer today with my compressor and airline and see if I can't scare it into working longer than your secretary. Maybe you could try that too, blowing some air up her dress . . .

      (Sorry Trace!)

          Lee,

Just an update on the HP Laptop situation as some others may find this useful:

The fans on the base of the ZD8000 are hooooge so they suck in enough local garbage and dog hairs to stuff a cat's pillow! Turns out the overheating was the duvet I created for the heat syn and processors and even on startup, she was running hot.

Launched my BIG compressor and blasted the baby with some serious psi and wow! The stuff that came out!! |fired her up and she now runs all day very, very quietly with hardly no 3rd fan kicking-in, amazing.

It is so frustrating that HP don't put anything in the literature about servicing generally (cleaning out etc) the machines when we have paid so much moola on them. Some guy on the ZD8000 forum (great info there) said how he had seen an ad for this laptop with a girl sitting with the machine on a pillow on her lap! It's just ridiuculous.

Thank goodness Chris and the guys at Actinic are a bit more helpful. I wrote to HP and still haven't had a response, it's their job - not the job of suffering customers working it out for themselves via forums - to support issues like this when you paid £1400 for kit.

Hope that helps someone as I know I thought I had thrown my money down the toilet.
