2 small issue I'm having

I have been having a play around with version 8 now and have found it to
be a lot easier then version 7 and a lot quicker to pick up. I'm having a few
issues and not sure who to get around them.

1. I want to be able to add an item from a product list directly to the
basket but with out the user having to add a qty. I wanted to have the qty
defaulted to 1 this is the page I'm having an issue with

2. Also I have made some changes to the basket layout but I have some how
stopped some fields from coming across and not sure who to solve this.
Also can I make the remove item a button and not a check box.

I'm still getting to grips with the product and so the site is still not a full working version.

You've completely r*ped your basket.

Search your help file for "Revert" and follow the "Revert to Factory Settings" instructions.

Also can I make the remove item a button and not a check box.

Why? You've done enough damage as it is. Your basket surrenders!

From what Actinic have told me it's more a case that you can't do this as you have to have qty showing on either the products page or the product page. what I want to do is having the add to basket on the products page with no qty and a hidden field with the qty in and on the product page for the customer to be able to add the qty in.

With regards the basket page already gone back to default setting and no good. Seem because I did an upgrade from 7 to 8 this may be why I'm having this issue, again Actinic are looking into this as we tried everything on the phone with no luck.

I was able to make these types of changes on the basket page in version 7 so not sure why I can't do that on this version.

If i am following this correctly you can try setting the buying method to quantity on page.. this gives a default value of 1 product ... wrap the quantity box in a CSS with display:none; to remove from displaying on the page.

Thanks for this, I'm taking that this is set as a default to 1 any way? Can I not just add a hidden form field to do the same thing? So if I just add the Qty code to this should then work, I hope. Got the basket working thanks to Actinic for helping me out but now need to change it again. There seems to be a lot of nested tables which I can't see why you need them.

In the basket area - unless you are a VERY experienced programmer, best advice is - if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

This is the most sensitive area of Actinic. Get just one tiny error, and the whole e-Commerce experience is dead.

If it's working, leave it well alone. If you must change it use copy and paste to ensure you have a backup of the current working state before every change (however minor), and test every change before you introduce another.
