    Interesting problem!

I have designed, using CSS, a site for a client which is for logged in users only. It links in with Sage Line 50 and also Mole End's One Stop Automation beautifully and it was launched about 3 weeks ago.

Now my client would like the public to be able to access the site though only be able to see the products, but no prices or stock levels........oh and so that they are not able to see the "View Basket", "Checkout" or "Search" buttons....

So I have gone about changing the restrictions on the site and altering the layouts but some of the hidden items (using the "hiding elements..." on 105 of the AUG) don't appear to either logged in customers or anyone else browsing the site............

Now what she would like is to have another login so that the customer does not see the prices until the checkout and I was thinking of using the "going straight to checkout after adding to cart" (page 95 of AUG), but how do I make the 3 layouts????? 2 different logins and the normal retail?

My brain hurts! any suggestions would be gratefully received.... problem is that I cannot show the site as it is a closed site!!! aaarrrrghhhhh

    thanks everyone

there s a solution, but your'e not able to see it until you go to the checkout pages . . .

some peoples idea of "selling" are very strange,

If it was me, I would walk away from the site the moment I get to the first page or so that doesn't tell me how much I'm going to pay for the product.
I truly can't think of anything more off putting when you visit a web site

thanks for reply complete rookie, the people who can logon have all the price information they need which is built into the reference of each product. There are reasons behind this which, due to confidentiality, I cannot reveal.

Sounds like an expensive experiment to confirm that the good ole ways of selling are still the best. You can't dictate anything nowadays unless you are the only person in the country/world with such a product/service. The actinic condition checking whether people are logged in wrapped around the elements you want to hide, should do this for you.
