    Flash as a product image

Is there any way to upload an swf file insted of a jpg as you rmain product image?

I assume not as I havn't foud anything on teh forums

If not does anyone know a good flash gallery program? There are so many it is a bit of a nightmare! What I want to do is have a button on our best sellers above the extended info button for a nice flash gallery to pop up to display the imaged of the product.

Any suggestions? (it doesn't have to be free or even cheap as long as it is GOOD!!)

you'd have to add it as an extra file.

i once made a flash movie that loads a jpg as an image at load time. and used the url of the imatge in the params.

you could always write your own gallery

When you say add it as an extra file do you mean FTP it up to your server?

How would you the get the SWF to load as a jpg?

Well I'm not sure on why you are going down this route but www.slideshowpro.net is by far the best flash gallery I have used. You can also use their back end managment solution Director which is very very good!

          you did what now?
          LOL

I'm gonna follow this. although I've bookmarked how to insert flash from the forum, I have a product coming soon, complete with short flash "demo" and being able to use it in the image place would be handy (although I'll probably just end up embedding it in the description somewhere)

i still ahve the code someplace.

            it works like this:

1-in your templates your flash object loads the same swf each time.
2-the swf is passed the url of the real jpg as a parameter
3-the swf loads the jpg, and displays it.
            4-profit.

see... it stops right click image theft. and allows zooming and 'nice' image streching. since flash natively streches images nicely. no pixels.

the mod/project was dropped becasue people sometimes dont have flash. and some odd IE7 behaviours.

That was one of teh ones I was looking at thanks

What I would ideally like is something like this joomla extension does for the product images http://www.whiteleys.com//index.php?...d=33&Itemid=95
or even better a combination of that and the slide show pro.

I really like the way the joomla extension greys out everything else and makes the photo really stand out.

I am afraid that I still can't understand what gabrielcrowe means but it all sounds a bit complex for me!

They are using Lightbox, which isn't flash but is fairly easy to set up, link here:-

                          Help setting up lightbox

                          hi all,

I came across the lightbox JS and want to have it run our larger image pop ups from the product pages, but have not a clue how or where to install the CSS and the code in the main actinic site.

I dont want to start dropping stuff in without some ideas, so any help would be much apprecated.

                          cheers, Paul.
