That layout is set for 600. I went to into the checkout pages html and sat ACTSTDWITH variable. I changed them all to 750. I could not find the value for this variable so i swaped the variable for 750. If you know where i can access the variable set width so i can change it there, i will do it that way because there are a few more locations still out using this variable.

      thanks again Louise!!
      Thanks!!

The ACTSTDWITH variable is most used on Cart and Checkout inner areas. Section and Product list are in site settings.

Robert, if you have removed the variable from the tables and replaced with a hard coded value, it won't make a scrap of difference how many times you change things in site options, it doesn't use the value in that variable because you removed it. Revert the shopping cart and checkout pages back to factory settings and start again OR replace the hard coded values you put in, with the variable instead. You could also compare your current layout with the factory setting and change things back that way. You need to get your cart and checkout pages back to normal and leave well alone - stay well clear of amendments in this area, problematic at the very best.

Trying to solve this in site options (from what you have said) is up the garden path time and will achieve nothing.

The site is a bit of a mess and I would re apply the theme and start again - you have not strayed to far from the standard design.

Once the theme is reapplied then do ONE change at a time snapshotting as you go so you can revert back when things go wrong. Be prepared to do tens of snapshots an hour until you learn the software.

Thanks Lee, i just need to set the "ACTSTDWIDTH" to 750. That is what i manually did to the pages of the checkouts.

Thats too wide - which is why its being pushed under the nav. Make it smaller or get rid of the left nav which is not needed in checkout.

Put the layouts back as they were Bob and then apply 750 (or whatever is needed) in site options as Louise mentioned, trust me that is how you should have it. Do not entertain touching the cart or checkout pages for at least 3 months of using the software, you will end up with too many chunks taken out of your ass.

If the site is using that variable as standard for its width, then you use it also.

Put the whole site back to basics and get selling your products - once they are all loaded on the site then do small changes slowly - and as lee says leave checkout alone. Its very easily broken and vital to the site.

If i revert the whole site to factory defaults, will I loose the other pages I put in Services and portfolio?? will it affect the javascripts also??

                          Thanks,

Revert the inner pages. View cart page code is 750 but you've also got an 800 wide setting for the first column. Bring the inner width down to about 700.

Thanks Louise, I did what you said and i set the main width to 750 and all fits perfectly!!! Now, on the server is another issue with the extra codes and the #80ffffff in the .css. going to check this out.
