Don't worry Chris, it gets like this the nearer Friday is....

simple answer is YES amalgamate away (although I never use this method, can be very messy and tiresome IMHO), JUST MAKE SURE YOU HAVE DECLARED AND REF TO EVERYTHING BY VIEWING EACH PAGE SEGMENT...

Thank you for your comments. Just looking through the post I feel I may have seemed a little short and also critical of Actinic which was not my intention and I apologise if I have offended. Actinic is fine and I have seen some sites which really impress me but these have all been done by developers. But I am sure there are many sites based on templates that look good to.

My own problem is that my time is limited and if you want to be creative Actinic has a steep learning curve and odd things happen. For example I registered my DW design with Actinic and when looked at it in IE6 it was fine. First time success impressive, later I looked at my page in FF and there no formatting at all. I spent ages looking through my style sheet and page layout and could not find a fault. When I removed the recommended Actinc code surrounding a conditional style sheet, the page displayed correctly. I have not fathomed that yet, it’s a pain. I have limited time I cannot spare the time to graduate to developer competence and I have used a method to deploy the website which works perfectly well for me.

I am very grateful for the help I have been given in this forum, and also for the speed of reply, it is greatly appreciated.

        Thanks

        Chris

PS the IE on a Mac comment was tongue in cheek; I have never seen a webpage on a Mac. A friend of mine who had such a setup for a while said it was a disaster and many pages did not display correctly. A bit like when he used Netscape 4.7.

i myself have climbed this learning curve, just as you are. the bonus for you, is that we're here to help you. some people here have had to put up with actinic's oddness from day 1.

The problem here is that actinic works beautifully out of the box, and thats what a lot of people want. but then there are other people, like myself ror example, who mutate actinic beyond recognition, just for kicks.

I have honestly stripped all the styles out of that site. it was the only way to remove the dire css that was there. in favour of my own. CSS and html are actually a lifetimes study in themselves, considering the complexity of such an offering, i'd not worry about a few months spend wrangling html. its tiny in comparison to the years you'll spend receiving orders, for having a well designed site.

not only that, but after you ahve learned these skills, you'll want to make another site, and another, they are re-usable.

i cant apologise for cracking jokes. this is a community forum after all, not a detention center for delinquent designers.

You've become very circumspect of late Croccy, you and design finally parted company? Got any jobs?
