    VAT display in cart/checkout

    Hi all,
Am new to V8 and a little rusty on older version so please go easy on me!

I have been given the folowing instructions relating to displaying VAT when checking out of a new V8 site, can anyone give me some simple pointers please?

All shopping cart displays and printouts should be excluding VAT.

Checkout pages should NOT display VAT until after the option to claim VAT exemption. If Exemption is true then do not display VAT on rest of checkout screens and final print; if exemption is false then do display VAT on rest of checkout screens and final print.

    Many thanks,
    Sam

With Actinic you don't have much control in this area:

All shopping cart displays and printouts should be excluding VAT.
Actinic shows product prices in the cart and checkout excluding VAT but WILL show VAT as a separate line item.

Checkout pages should NOT display VAT until after the option to claim VAT exemption. If Exemption is true then do not display VAT on rest of checkout screens and final print; if exemption is false then do display VAT on rest of checkout screens and final print.
Actinic will display VAT as a separate line item until VAT exemption is established. Once VAT exemption is established, VAT is no longer shown.

This might change in V9 where VAT handling is being changed but I expect that the main changes will be on including VAT in the cart and checkout for retail customers.
