my thoughts exactly Norman, i will try again after xmas.

there are several scenarios to consider to determin if its the pc or the snapshot.

Although i do have to add that the code works and will display the section images inline within preview mode.

its when i try to upload live, that actinic does its belated coding check and bombs out - does this later revelation point to it being the snapshot or the pc?

      Jo,

Another thing to check is that you don't have any weird characters in your image filenames or Section names.

yep i found that thread! and noted it was supposed to be fixed in 903.

        I've gone through products/section removing '

i guess i need to remove / and`anything else that might be there.

whilst removing weird chars may get this working - i then have to rely on my client not adding anymore.

        Poor show actinic

Ok i've wasted enough time on this.

prior to adding the new section code all is well.- no coding errors

add the section code, apply it to a section where there are no weird chars and i get parse errors. (I've reinstalled 903 )

If anyone would like to quote me to fix this i'd be grateful (it could be my laptop but i don't have access to a 2nd machine at the mo, it could be the client database as it was a complete pig to upgrade from 6 to 8) - i will have to run the cost by my client before committing.

            Hi Norman,

Thanks for your great cooperation by the way..

The above code does not seem to work on my site..question(may be stupid):

The folder "Thumbnails" that you create in the Actinic folder, do you nee to put all the pictures in there or leave it empty ?

            Thanks

The "Thumbnails" folder will be automatically filled by the patch.

                Thanks Noram,

                But nothing is being generated..?

Do we see the changes in the design tab of actinic, or once uploaded on server?

You should see it in the Preview. Best look at the generated source code and see if there are any error messages there.

I have all the pictures in a folder called: Pictures inside Actinic. Could it be why it does not work?
Should I move all the massive amount of pictures in the site 1 folder?

Picture should be fine in a sub-folder of your Site folder.

Not sure I can help further. The code runs on your PC and only someone sitting there can help.

Long experience shows that most problems are people not following instructions accurately, so it may be worth double-checking what you've done.

                          Thanks Norman,

I have tried again, and again...may be another question?

The catalog is Huge (+8000 products and more than 10K sections..) ..looking at you top level value at 75...what is it ? has it got a significance in that perspective?

                            Sorry Norman,

That is what little sleep can do for you ! The reason why I can't see it working is because I have the pictures there, up to a certain level only.

                            Got it..75 is the width..

Plus I need to apology here as I realise (reading and reading again) that the code is not what I was looking for, but kind of similar..(thought great! at first)

What I would like is the same type of code, but the ability to fill the pictures to the top of the catalog..this one is only working on :
                            section>section>product Picture

                            I would need

section>section>section>section>product picture..need the pictures right into top level..

Is there any change to that code ?

                            Thanks

This can probably be done but might require considerable modification. Probably way beyond the level of work that this Forum provides for free.

You have all the source code so you could build on that. Investigate using ChildSectionList after the ProductList and if no image has already been located.

                                Thanks again Norman.

I will have to call it a day..I have tried many diffrent things..can't get it working. My knowledge in the matter is limited, and I have now developed some coding errors..so back to square one, with time and patience to go through each section, copy and paste...

It is a shame, as It would have been Ideal..

                                Thanks for the guidance..
