Simplified (shorter) Checkout Process

One of our clients has asked if it's possible to simplify the checkout process and they feel that the current process is too long-winded.

I have to say I agree that four pages is a little unnecessary. Does anyone know of a way of simplifying this so that the customer only has to go through maybe a couple of simple pages?

Obviously all the data still has to be captured but it still seems long-winded to me.

You can remove the first page asking for location, if not required, apart from that not a lot you can do really, just cosmetics. Its a long standing issue been asked about for years, it will happen one day.

This issue has raised its' head again for me.
Given the introduction of the new Actinic payments system, wouldn't now be a good opportunity for them to take another look at it?
