    Modifying layout/menu - how difficult?

    Hi,

I have recently bought Actinic Catalog. I also have Dreamweaver, with which I am quite proficient. I would like to modify the layout of the standard Catalog html pages and menus. What's involved? Do I need Actinic Designer to do this?

    Thanks,
    Stephen.

You can do your own design with Catalog, you don't need designer.

In Actinic in the Design View you will see a large text button that says 'Edit Layout in Dreamweaver' (at the bottom of the code pane)

        Mal,

I took the site down because I don't have the payment service hooked up yet. (Waiting for a merchant account...)

You could have left it up and just suspended ordering so that the site will still get indexed.

I found it easy to design an outer layer in Dreamweaver, get it just how you want it, and then register it with actinic.
Insert the Innerlayout, which is essential. All the actinic bits will then be inside your Dreamweaver outer layer.

Once the outer layout is done it is often then quicker to edit within Actinic under the design tab.. the beauty being the variables are compacted and available on the fly and you type. Nail the outer and then work in Actinic.
