getting the parents sectionID from the sectionID?

I can list / use the sectionID by using <actinic:variable name="SectionID" />
is there anyway of getting the parentSectionID of this sectionID

I could adapt Gabe's bit of code by dipping into [Catalog section] and getting the [nParentSectionID] but is there an easier way please ( an actinic variable?).

I've looked at breadcrumbs layouts but that doesn't seem to help

I'm sorry but there isn't a variable to get the parent section ID. I'll add it to the wish-list.

I'm sure it will be a useful one, with that, you can then get a list of siblings to your current levels

Its a very vague thought and could be completely wrong, but i think Norman works out this info in one of his menu scripts. Not sure what he does exactly but i think i have seen it. Apologies if i am wrong.
