Hi all

we are currently using avtinic v8 but are planning to upgrade to v9 when it is released.

I don't know if this is possible but I wan't to offer a flat uk delivery charge of £9.95 to all our customers but when someone orders a special order item I want them to be charged a seperate delivery charge of £4.95 as we will split the order and send out our stock items straight away and then send the special order lines when they come into stock.

I thought about the shipping suppliment route but this add a suppliment per extra item which is not what we are looking for as it just need to be a flat rate when some orders a pecial order line (which can be 1 or 100 lines )

The other issue that complicate matters is we have to do all pricing by weight as we also ship abroad.

Use the 'ship separately' facility on the product and apply it's own cost just for that product.

PS - weight made your life infinitely easier, not more difficult.

I don't think that this will work as it's not just 1 specific product. But infact over 200 lines that we would need to ship seperatly.

All we basically need is for actinic to charge £9.95 flat rate on the order and if any of the special order lines are added to add en extra £5.95 to the shipping to cover the extra delivery cost.

Then use weight.

Set a default weight of .01kg and then set a weight of 5000kg on the items you need the supplement charged on.

In your shipping table, define the first band as (zero to) 4999kg at a cost of 9.95, and the next band as (5000 to) 10000kg at a cost of 15.90.

Set excess to use the highest rate.

now when people buy the standard items - unless they buy 500,000 they will not cross the threshold into the second band, but as soon as they add one or more special items - they will be charged the higher rate.
