    http://www.gabrielcrowe.co.uk/

here, you will find a gadget i invented, that allows you to style a default actinic shop, online.

some of the combinations of designs, look pants. but i'll be adding new things to it over time. bear in mind that a lot of the shop will look unstyled and messy, and it is. this tool is not finished yet.

    any ideas/suggestions?

i think i'll probably make a snapshot available, with the required a files, as a starting point for 'new' sites.

The example shown is dynamic, only to show the layouts in action. a snapshot version will contain all the available designs, but without the dropdown boxes. the layouts will be selected using variables.

the idea is that the physical markup used to build a site will be the same. the only thing changing here in the example is the css, a very powerful way to change the look of a site.

change the css, change the design. dont edit the templates.

This is wonderful. Why there isn't a half decent starting template built into Actinic is beyond me. Most of the supplied templates are hideous, and those that aren't are only 'kind of OK'.

yes, it was rather confuddling to make. plenty of javascript.

the main advantages are that its html is static, and the styles are css. as shown by the dynamic demo. with some admin interface, i'm sure that the customer could log in as some sort of admin, and set the styles like that.

              prolly.
