Custom Layouts Not Showing As An Option

OK im sure i did see this here once but buggered if i can find it so here go's

I have created a new selector and layouts in the library, but i cant insert these into my inner layout, actinic cant find them, i have deleted them, copied orginals, created new layouts based on none but alas it is not to be.

normally when i start typing in the design window actinic kindly gives me a box with options to choose, nope not there. I have even tried to insert a custom layout that was created in a v8 site and is already there and working but actinic can not see this now. it does not come up in the list of layouts either

i am stumped on this one, has anyone else experience similar, would not supprise me if i had done something wrong

Have you assigned the layouts to a selector .. shifted them to the right hand column?

ok yes they are in the right hand box checked that, think im gonna have to get the book out and start again

step by step, unless someone else can confirm they have problems then i'll not bother

Rather than typing it an it appearing click on the insert layout from library (pink circle icon) and tick the "used fixed layout option" then enter the name of the selector in the "list of names containing" to bring up a list and your layout will show at the bottom.. click to insert.

That did the trick, your a star, never used fixed layout thing before
