Remove button in checkout

Hello,

The "remove" caption in the shopping cart is not always visible. It is fine in the design preview window, and sometimes, but not always appears on the live site.

Also, the remove caption and tick boxes appear in the other checkout pages, but with no option to update, and they should not be there.

I don't know how to fix these problems, and am very wary of trial and error on the checkout pages in case I break something!

Any advice gratefully received.

have you customised the checkout?

if not i suggest you revert all checkout pages and cart pages to default to see if this fixes it

I don't think I have customised the checkout, but I have reverted to factory settings, and the problem persists, apart from checkout page 3 which is now showing a large grey rectangle instead of the information that should be there!! Help!

checkout is customised as it has radio buttons instead of drop down for paymeny choices BUT i don't think this is the problem so leave it alone for now.

I noticed the remove column not showing, but i am unsure whatyou mean ny checkout page 3 as i suspect you are refeing to the java encryption box,

it the site online as a test site? is there a URL?

Hello,

the site is live at www.guidepost.uk.com and you can see the original problem there. I have not uploaded the "grey rectangle" problem, so I can't show you that - it is checkout page 3 on the design tab, and the outer page design is fine, but the inner page design is the grey rectangle with "click here for terms and conditions" below it. I do have a snapshot from Friday, which I could just import to get back to where I was, but this would not solve my original problem.

I can't recreate the problem where it doesn't appear (except when there's nothing in the cart to remove). Does it only happen in a particular browser?

Try editing the 'Order 00 Bulk Area', 'Order 01 Bulk Area' and 'Order 02 Bulk Area' layouts. Look for the 'ShoppingCartGrid' variable (around line 18) and right-click on it and select 'Edit Appearance'. Set the 'Use fixed layout' field to 'Checkout Shopping Cart Grid' and click 'OK'. This should stop the 'remove' field from appearing during the checkout stages (you may need to do the same to the 'Receipt Page Bulk' layout too).

HI,

I think I have removed the unwanted remove boxes - and will need to try the site out to see if the "remove" button I do want is now visible.

I think the fault was caused by an old template which has been brought along from a previous version, and there is a comment in the page 3 code:

<!-- Hidden field when in trial mode -->

which I am hoping will account for the grey rectangle.

Sounds like you are looking at the java card encription page - remove it in payment options

Hi,

The unwanted boxes have now gone, but the problem with the disappearing "remove" caption is unresolved.

I am using IE6 to view, and have just tried it again - when I add one item to the cart, everything is fine, but when I add a second item, the caption has gone. I don't know if this is the case every time, but that is what has just happened.

I've just tried it in FF3, IE7 AND IE6 and all looks as it should
I think you need to post a screenshot of what you are seeing

Hi Rosalyn,

I think the problem is to do with the HTML on the tables when a discount is added. If you revert the 'View Cart Page Shopping Cart Grid' layout back to factory settings, it should then display ok.
