CSS background-image not displaying online

    i think the only way forward is to have them in the root
    This is true - any layout images should be in the root I have found

        Okey dokey diddly pokey

        All fixed. Thanks for all the help.

        The solution was 2 fold.

        1. The background images must be in the site1 (or equiv) folder and NOT a sub folder
        2. The CSS that controls it should be declared in the <head> part of the document after the link to actinic.css.
