How do I add my own navigation icons?

This should be simple to do as i followed the 'help' on this to the letter.

    But i'm having a problem

My problem is this:- I would like to create a button on my nav bar the same as the others which are image navigation buttons to link to another part of my site outside actinic. (see Image)

Can somebody guide me through this, i think i understand the veriables etc but i don't know where to begin i feel like i'm going in circles.

It just seems to be crazy complicated!!!

Download Firefox and the firebug addon and take a look at one of the current live links (use the inspect button), you will be able to see the style(s) being used in that area. Just replicate that by adding your own link in directly, next to the last one in the line.

Switch to the design tab... click on the "contact us" button... copy and duplicate the code there and edit to change the link and button text (or images being used in the rollover)

Judging by your problems with the background image this could be a long thread

lol You guys make me laugh virtual fighters!!!

I have tried both now and i guess i'm missing many parts to this 10000 piece jigsaw called, How do I add my own navigation icons? i would imagine about 99999 pieces.........

Firstly fire bug way was going well i found all the right pieces but i cant put them together. the code is nice clear HTML i copied it, added a layout from the libary, edited it with fire bug code and nothing, because i'm doing it wrong.

The other way i understand because i spent 4 hours last night trying, here is what happed......

I followed the help.... see below...

              It doesn't work

What now?, Whats next?, Maybe a giant fire bug will come to my house and set up everthing i want on my shop That would be easy.

What you call 'the lie' is in fact perfectly fine and mirrors what I said. Your understanding of actinic, html and css seems very minimal and you just can't approach these parts with such minimal knowledge, it's not that easy i assure you. You will have an epic 2 day thread for each and every one of your issues unless someone spoon feeds you or offers a free design service. If you want to get stuck in to this part of your site, you gotta sit down and RTFM.

The lie works perfectly fine and mirrors what I said .... ie the simpler solution to Lee's suggestion.

If it is not working you have done something wrong.

No point - Lee probably uses a convoluted masonic style handshake

LOL Jonty, u do crack me up. This poor guy struggled for 40 days and 40 nights trying to get a background color to show on his tables. The last thing he now needs is to further entrench himself into actinic. Thus the firebug solution is for some light relief. Copy a complete tag from the online site (anyone can copy paste nowadays), change the details in the link (he knows the details of this) and paste it in the right position. Parts 1 & 2 are easy, part 3 is trial and error, you can't get easier than that.

I agree to shake your hand though and let you off for being wrong this time. Anyway get back to decorating you, there is upstairs to do yet!

Just use your thumb to press one of his knuckles and you may convince him your connected to a logde

ok i hear what your saying, and i would agree that my actinic knowledge is not so good.

Anyway thank you Leehack your method is in this instance the fastest way but only because the other way, the help way, didn't work for me so i think your both right. I did try to do this by RTFM but hey thats life.

The actinic software is not really somthing i'm going to learn overnight i agree, i thought as my HTML etc was good i would manage it, but its too advanced for me as a noobie who isn't doing it for a living.

Hopefully it will work when the link is live.
