    product layout mess after importing

    I'm a beginner, using catalog v.9.
    Today I learned how to import a flatfile csv- and then how to add a custom variable to products- and how to convert the flatfile to a hierarchical and successfully import that too.
    I have products arranged in 3 columns, but as all images are the same size throughout the site, and all text is similar, how can I force the cells in the rows and colums to all be the same size and with the text and images in the same positions? Here is the current situation:

    Can I introduce a spreadsheet column or two into the hierarchical file that will force all website columns to be the same width regardless of contents, image to be left and top aligned, and text elements such as price, custom variable, etc., to be in the same place in each cell?
    Alternatively can I go into Design Library | Layouts | Product List with Horizontal Dividers, and change something there to make it behave?
