Individual Page logos & Alt tags V9

    Hi,
I did this in V7, not sure how it's done in V9.

I want different logos and alt tags for each section (USING CORPORATION THEME)

    In version 7

    I created a customvar,
renamed primary.html for each section and changed it in the overall layout.
Changed the logo image in the new primary.html
Under properties selected us Customvar, inserted the logo alt tag.

How would something like this work in V9?

    Thanks in advance.

Your best place to start is understanding how to create variables and then how to use blockifs, you then merge those 2 pieces of knowledge and get some immensely powerful tools at your exposal. These are 2 really key areas to learn which will open up many doors to you, so spend a good few hours practicing, reading the help and also the tutorials on the forum.

It's not a great idea to maintain multiple templates, because if you need to make a change, you have multiple templates to change, so learning what i mentioned will mean you can do it all in the one template. Most experienced designers tend to have just one layout for brochure and product pages and use these to change areas of the design or content on the page.

        Hi,
Thanks for the quick reply. I'm in the process of switching over to version 9. Times a little bit of a factor and still got a number of changes to do from the import Can you just give me a quick outline of what to do and I can go from there.

        Thanks again

A quick outline would be double dutch to you unless you do as suggested. Seasoned developers never moved from V7 to V8/V9 in a short period, nor will you I suspect, it's quite a change.

However, a brief outline would be create a section level variable for the image and one for the alt text, add them to your overall layout where you want them to show, add your images where applicable and have it wrapped in a blockif, so that if no image is defined it does not show or shows a default one.
