Can i shange my long index panels to square ones?

    Hello,

Basically my website looks like this right now: http://www.girlfrombluecity.co.uk/ac...Necklaces.html - the index in the main panel has long sections and i want them to be square so it looks more like this - http://www.superlogo.co.uk/acatalog/Our_Designs.html is this possible? Do i need an add on or is there a theme that does this?

Also is there a way to have drop down menus in the left hand column?

And while i'm asking what is the best way to have a layout that has a centre panel? So for example i can have a background image and the main website panel has a different image or colour?

    Thankyou

Sections: Settings / Site Options / Layout / Section / the two Column Count entries.

Drop Down Menus: If you mean dynamic menu this isn't in Actinic. See www.drillpine.biz/actinicstuff for Collapso or NorList.

Centre Panel: You already have one so I don't know what you're after here.

P.S. Lose those huge product images. They're way too big and will just scare off / annoy customers.

They are called "Sub-Sections". Documented in the Starter Guide - approx page 15.

Thanks , I thought that - what I cant figure is how to display the sub-sections in the main product list and then seperate the lists with a break into smaller lists...

I'm struggling to figure out what you are trying to explain, do you have an example you could show us to give an idea?

Yes in the original post - http://www.girlfrombluecity.co.uk/ac...Necklaces.html -

In the left hand column - Store Section - you have all the products - i.e sections and subsections displayed. When I add subsections it doesnt show them in the product list...onlly the top section.

Then as per the above link I want to have the products spaced out in catagories as shown as apposed to one long list...

              cheers

What i don't like is the way the site stretches to fit the screen whereas sites like this: http://www.wheels.uk.com/ have a set size main window and only the background stretches. Is there a way to set the width of the site so it doesn't stretches maybe?

I don't think there is a standard menu that shows the parent and the siblings apart from the awful yahoo menu that you see on your example. It is never advised to use that. Ideally you want to craft your own menu for this, but given the nature of your question, i suspect this will be a bit above you at the moment. If you do fancy having a go, then reading the blockif tutorials and understanding 'sectionLevel' will be a must. If you understand those 2 areas, you can pretty much craft any menu that you wish.

if it's a side menu you're referring to (I've got completely lost and confused in this thread ) then perhaps the Collapso menu from Drillpine will give you what you want?
