    background/borders for smart theme

    Hi all
I believe ive optimized my site for 1024 x 768 (should I do this?). However, when I look at the site on a bigger resolution such as 1280 x 1000 I would prefer there to be borders on either side rather than the detail stretching across the screen. Maybe in easier terms, look at my site www.rockingpony.net at 1024 x 768 and then make screen bigger - it streches. I want it to do what the bbc website does.

Sounds like you need to set the width to a fixed width (same on all screens) rather than a fluid width (stretches to suit the screen size). 1024 wide would be the lowest common denominator that the vast majority of people design their sites to nowadays, so follow the lead is the best course of action. Fluid layouts usually have width="100%" ie fill the screen space, whereas fixed width usually have width="1000", you will need to convert the layout to do this for you.

If you have v9 the design wizard can set this up for you without having to get dirty.
