Auto changing colour of nav bar

There is a theme in Actinic V9 that is called prime.

One thing I like about it is that when you click on the Design tab>Themes>Advance Themes configuration, you can change individual colours.

Now when you change Palette Colour 3, not only that affects the look of the text on the page but also the main top navigation bar images takes a shade of that colour which I think is cool.

However when I tried to replace the two nav bars images: prime_nav_bar.gif , and theme_topbar_background.gif to my own images( on the Actinic directory on Program Files>Actinic V9>Formats>Themes>Prime), Actinic just places them as they are and doesn't alter the shade of them according to Palette colour 3.

Is there a way of obtaining this ?

    Thanks...

If you are adding your own images and actinic is not creating them for you, then you will need to create them using the correct color(s) yourself. Actinic won't communicate with your images AFAIK.

I do let Actinic creating the images for me.

What I did was making two images exactly the same resolution and name them: prime_nav_bar.gif , and theme_topbar_background.gif.

I then replace these on directory Program Files>ActinicV9>Formats>Themes>Prime

If I replace these back with the originals I can once again obtain the shade according to colour on Pallet 3.

So why is not working with my own images. can someone who understands my question answer me please.

      Thanks...

        Yanni,
Images used in Actinic themes have been created using ActCBNMaker.exe and registered within the Actinic program against the relevant theme.
ActCBNMaker.exe indentifies an image's colours in the image and converts the image into a "CBN gif". Changing the colours in the themes area of Actinic simply sends an instruction to Actinic to change the relative CNB colour in the theme image.

If you wanted your own images to change each time you change a theme colour then you would have first create/convert the CBN gif using ActCBNMaker.exe then register the image with the theme in Actinic.
Easier to simply choose one theme and then make your image to match.

Thanks a lot fergusw. That's what I wanted to hear. It is a bit frustrating when someone else gives you a quick answer without properly reading your question.

              Thanks again...
