    Background image in V8

    Hi Folks,

    I'm considering using a background image in our v8 site http://www.locomobilia.com
    any suggestions would be appreciated in how I can go about adding a background image instead of a plain colour

    Many thanks

        Hi Lee,

        Super quick response as per usual.....thank you
        Having a mooch and thought I'd play around with a bg image.
        I've noticed that when I navigate from pg to pg the screen goes white for a split second!!
        Is this normal?

        Thanks

            eek thats abit nasty....

            if you want to keep the bg image it might be a good idea to add a bg colour of black. this may or may not replace the FOW with a FOB which wont be so hard on the eyes - you'd have to try it

              Hi folks,

              I've decided to optimise the bg image as best I could and though the FOW is there it is not as bad! - time for a B R E W

                You could try wrapping the whole page in a <div> and applying the background-image to that ... this can sometimes overcome body & html loading issues.

                The css should declare a colour the same as the main image.. if black eg:

                #pageWrap {
                background-image: #000 url('image.gif') no-repeat;
                }

                  FOW will still occur as it is a browser loading issue.... but it is a good idea to have the background-color the same as the image (for slowly rendering pages)
