Only display top level in search by section drop-down

Working on a site where on the search page, I'd like to include the search by section drop-down list (no problem), but I really only want to show the top level sections.

Is this possible to do?

First, turn on 'Allow Searching by Sections' in Settings > Search Settings.
Second, on each sub-section, General tab, deselect 'Include as Selectable Section on Search Page'.
