Broken border

Darren kindly pointed out that the border on Snorestore is broken. Have looked and looked for the missing element using firebug and tried lots of permutations but can't pin down the problem. No coding errors are showing in Design view.

If anyone has a moment or ten, would they mind having a look as I'm clearly not seeing the wood for the trees here.

Incidentally the site was upgraded to 9.04 last night so it may or may not be related to that.

Add:

.clear {
clear: both;
}

to the bottom of your stylesheet, and then in your outer layout, look for the very last instance of </div>, and just before that, add:

<div class="clear"></div>

It's a long standing bug (looks like it anyway) where a parent does not expand to fit its content, so its necessary to force it to do so.

Well I tried - lots of times - am useless at this stuff. But thanks Lee again for the suggested fix.

Your using floats for your main body content DIV's rather than absolute positioning with relative postitioned DIV's, hence the problem.

Try simply adding a min-height property with the #hotshot-border properties in the stylesheet.

e.g. try

#hotshot-border {
background-color:#FFFFFF;
border-color:-moz-use-text-color #003366 #003366;
border-style:none solid solid;
border-width:0 1px 1px;
margin:0;
min-height:1100px;
padding:0;
width:auto;
}

OK i have had this with this theme, and being an n00b with regards css i found the way i fixed it was to remove a </div>

I found this sometimes broke particular pages depending on wether it had fragments and products e.t.c as they were out of balance. i dont know if this is because the theme is wrong in the first place or i broke it

As i said i am no css expert so i count the open ones then count the closed ones if the closed one is in the wrong place i move it.
