    IE 8 compatibility mode.

    Has anyone managed to get the "fix" for websites that break in IE8 to work-- I found this bit of code:-
    < meta http-equiv=”X-UA-Compatible” content=”IE=7″ />
    I have placed it inside the <head> </head> tags as per instructions,
    but it doesn't seem to work in Actinic-the page layout stays broken.
    Not seriously, it's just one small misalignment in the header in the home page -- http://www.kitchenwareonline.com but it's irritating me.
    I don't like broken layouts and I'm having trouble tracking down whats causing it.
    Why are we still being presented with templates which use nested tables?

    I have found the reason why the fix was not working (used a ' instead of a " but the HTML/CSS bug I still can't see, maybe its the way Actinic works?

        IE8 Standards and compliance.

        Thanks Duncan both those methods work. As far as I can see it's because of the variables etc that Actinic uses. The HTML and CSS all in the page all look correct.

            LOL - yes but it keeps the site looking ok until it gets fixed in 2012.

              when ie9 is released and the meta tag for that now doesn't work on ie7 lol?
