Custom Product ID in Shopping Cart

So far ive created a Product ID variable for the product secton and gave each of the products i have their own number.

The problem im having is that i cant seem to include this variable within the shopping cart area it still displays its custom value of 0

Is there anyway of displaying this variable within the shopping cart?

Is there some reason why you can't use the actual product reference in the cart? You can change this from being auto generated by Actinic.

Help > Help Topics > Products > Product References tells you all about it.

Getting such variables to display in the Customer Email and downloaded Order is much more work. If you need them there, best use the Product Reference as mentioned above.

yeah thanks, i changed the product ref off auto generated seems to have done the trick.

ive just realised now changing the ref code that everytime i try and add a product to the shopping cart it comes up with a general error saying the product no longer exists!

do i have to change anything else?

Thanks, i just purged and refreshed the site and cleared the history and it works
