Flexible Links within Product Page

Hi,
I'm trying to insert links from some of our main product pages to point to various things such as external videos or blog articles etc. The difficulty is that each link will need to be used within multiple products and I need the flexibility to be able to change the text or url of the link from one central place rather than on each product. I basically want to create a library of links that can be used by whichever product I choose to select it for (maybe using one or more dropdown boxes to select which link/s to use).
Does anyone have any idea how I can do this as I'm scratching my head and support seems confused?

You can create variables in the Design Library under Variables. Once set up you need to code these into your layouts as links.

Thanks peblaco. That's got me exactly where I needed to be with the minimum of fuss. Now I can create as many links and instances of links as necessary. Thanks again, Dave
