If you use lengthy product descriptions but want to give those viewing your website a taste of the product decription in the Product Summary you can use an ellipsis that shortens the text and terminates it with three dots '...'
Download jquery.dotdotdot.min.js from http://dotdotdot.frebsite.nl/download.php and save in the Site folder.
Place this at the bottom of javascript header functions:
Add this to Current Stylesheet in Design view;
Now in the Product Summary use:
If you would like to try a simple stand alone example copy the following into a text editor and save it as an html file then view in a browser. The file needs to be saved in th same folder as jquery.dotdotdot.min.js
