Protx virtual terminals should be on again

    check your virtual terminals!

Apparently they should now be all active again (both of mine are)

If anyone has been following this thread on the Protx Support forums...this guy Joe has probably prevented a lot of people from jumping ship yesterday and today.

Anyway, according to a message I just received in reply to my pm to him, the terminals should be switched on again across the board now.

Well....our terminal is back on, but all transactions put through it come back as declined by the bank.

Phoned PROTX support (and I must say that they didn't sound in good shape!) and was told that it was a Streamline problem. Phoned Streamline who told me that it was a PROTX problem. Now awaiting response from PROTX Support again..........

Thank heavens I'm on holiday next week!

      b*gger...that's not reassuring, Gordon.
I haven't had to use mine yet. Out of interest, are the cards you've tried Maestro? And is your 3d secure on or off?
I've been following the Protx support forums a little stil and it seems that various combinations of Maestro and 3d secure are still causing problems, especially with the VT.

Not good if everything is being rejected though...kinda defeats the object, doesn't it?

We've tried all card types - still the same problem. We do have 3D Secure activated and have done for the last six weeks without any issue.

Streamline have said that everything is fine their end, with our account having MOTO facilities activated. However, they are issuing new merchant numbers even if you have MOTO activated on your current merchant account, which will be passed over to PROTX in the next few days.

Streamline have also said that the stay of execution for the virtual terminal will only last a couple of weeks for old merchant numbers, even if they have MOTO activated. So they advise that everyone should get the new merchant number sorted ASAP.

As a point of interest, Streamline also said that they were not informed of the email that PROTX sent everyone to say that we had to do nothing until hearing from Streamline. They only found out when their Support lines lit up!Communication seems to be a bit of a weak point at PROTX Towers!

I have my separate Streamine moto account number and gave it to Protx weeks ago...despite this, I still lost my VT on Wednesday. It's back up now and they have been notified AGAIN of my MOTO account numbers (we also have a cardnet one for Jesters) with assurances that they will be added to our Protx account information to enable us to continue using the VT.

As for communication between Protx and Streamline...it doesn't surprise me.
Protx seem to have been communicating with no one... and the MD is in his own little world full of pixies and leprechauns and merchants who can't read emails

The guy is clearly deluded but I have a feeling it could come back to bite him in the proverbial at some point.

Meantime we're all struggling on..with some bits working (my web payments are fine (touch wood!)) and some not..with no idea of what is wrong and when it might be fixed

Well at least we know it can work!

Our web payments are OK now so at least we're functional.

We can process MOTO payments through our Streamline Fraudscreening virtual terminal, which we use for backup (thank goodness that we kept it going after moving over to PROTX!) Trouble is that the Streamline interface is a pain to use and slows up processing - but at least it works!

              Still awaiting response from PROTX...............
